Stuff and things...

Sun Mar 15, 2009, 7:45 AM
Its Sunday, March 15th, and I haven't updated my journal in almost a year. Sad, isn't it?

My current pageviews are at 9,999. Exciting! I'm finally going to enter the 10,000's after 3 years of being here. Its weird to think that many people have visited my page. I took a screenshot of the 9,999.

My buddy Jim Pavelec [link] and fellow artist Chris Seaman are working on a new how to draw book. I can't reveal any details but I will say holy crap, its going to amaze people. Go take a look at the blog about the process as the book comes together, [link]

I've started my own work on a series of how to draw books that I plan on pitching to Impact Books. I'll be posting some new artwork that is slightly related to my project very, very soon, so keep an eye out.

Learned how to play Mahjong yesterday. That is the most badass, hardcore game ever. Seriously. If you don't know how to play it, I suggest you go out and learn.

That is all for now, more updates to come this year.

*EDIT* I finished writing this entry, and my pageviews were suddenly at 10,004. I missed the 10,000th! Darn.

Hellbeasts wreaking havoc all over the place

My buddy and mentor, Jim Pavelec has finally joined DA. Go check out his page :icongenethoq: and look at his work, its amazing stuff. And while you're at it, check out his website [link] and maybe buy a book or two [link] .

So yeah, go to his page, leave him a comment or two and welcome him.

In other news, I start a new job at Bank of America today. I'll probably have more time to draw now, because I predict the ability to do it during slow times at work. Anyway, look forward to some new work, because I have several sketches nearing the painting stage, and at least one painting thats nearing completion. I'll also post some of my work from a recent comission up on here soon.

That's all for now.

Webbin' Sight Part 2

Fri May 9, 2008, 6:56 AM
Last April, I made a journal post about my website being made. Unfortunately, things came up and it didn't get finished then. But in December, :icondanaeop: started coding my site for me, and recently my friend Sam finished Dana's work on it. So here it is, [link]

Check it out, and lemme know what you think.

Art

So I haven't really submitted anything new and exciting in a while. Nothing fully finished, aside from some speedpaints a month ago, which don't count. I just haven't been up to finishing any of the existing paintings I've started. They're all...I dunno...boring. Its the same thing, over and over. I need to find something new to do.

So :iconactifblue: and I have begun working on a scifi/fantasy project together. I won't say much about what it is right now, but she has this really awesome idea, and we're collabing on it. I've been having fun working on concept sketches for it because its so different than my usual blatant fantasy ripoff characters. I've never really bothered much with sci fi, so its nice to have to make myself think a different way.

In other news, I went to the Matt Nathanson/Lifehouse show at House of Blues last night. Was my 3rd time seeing Matt Nathanson there. This time, Ashley and I got to meet him, which was frigging amazing! Already looking forward to his next show.

5 Sketches to save the WORLD!! j/k

Thu Sep 27, 2007, 3:54 PM
First 10 people to comment gets a sketch. SKETCH, let me repeat that, SKETCH. No inks or colors. Unless you do me a song or dance, why not? Or bake me some cookies...but anyways...

Nothing complicated, though. Nothing a below 18 year old should see. And nothing with blood, guts, spit and ass flying through the air.

Oh, and you HAVE to post something like this on your journal, too. Just to check, before I start sketching your request, I have to see your entry first.

Spread the love.

1. :iconkamikazejones: Golem picking a kitten off a tree.
2. :iconfelinaedeath: Chocolate Fairy
3. :iconbrianl03: Steampunk El Train.
4. :iconamericanlink:
5. :iconkamiawolf: Her character playing a violin.

P.S. If you do get a slot and post this on your journal and I rush in and grab a slot, I don't have to continue the cycle (otherwise, it's an endless waltz). Same goes for whoever does this.
