In the past couple of years, I haven't added very many substantial pieces of artwork to my gallery here. I'd become pretty burnt out on my usual process of producing artwork and different aspects of my style. In addition, I began working as a graphic designer, so by the time I came home each night, I had absolutely 0% left in the gas tank when it came to creating art.
I'm hoping to change that this year. I know its pretty late in the year, but my goal is to upload at least 2 more finished paintings before the new year. I want to revitalize my painting style. To that end, I've purchased a Cintiq monitor to replace my aging Intuos 3 pen tablet. Now, I'm the first one to tell you that going digital, or using a tablet, etc, isn't going to magically make you a better artist. I do, however, believe that the right tools can inspire you and help you reach your goal.
So we'll see where this takes me. I've been having some fun with the new tablet, as evidenced by finally finishing this: [link] . I think this is going to be pretty fun, just like it used to be, and like it should've been the last couple years.
Cheers!
